APRIL "More quality drama for you! We hope you all enjoyed Firebrand's Being Norwegian in March - a true taste of the West End in the Borders, and are delighted to be able to offer you more quality drama in April when Edinburgh-based
Arkle Theatre Company
make a welcome return to The Wynd with their production of An Experiment with an Air Pump, by leading contemporary playwright, Shelagh Stephenson.
A dazzlingly successful blend of significant themes shot through with sparkling dialogue, the deft award-winning script is both thought-provoking and delightfully light. Above all, it will leave you thoroughly entertained.

Two households, two scientists, two centuries apart. In 1799, man-of-science Joseph Fenwick and his fellow-progressives prepare to ring in a new century in which women are excluded from learning, and ethics are all but excluded from the pursuit of knowledge.

On New Year’s Eve 1999, however, in the very same study, brilliant geneticist Ellen is packing up her family home to move to a new job in
embryo research when human remains are found buried in the kitchen extension, where the old garden used to be . . . But whose bones are
they? And how did they get there?

Performances of the show are on Friday 22 April and Saturday 23 April at 8pm. Tickets cost £12 (£10 concessions).

Following their great success with Being Norwegian in March, we are thrilled to be linking up with Red Shed Ticketing for tickets for this event. To book your seat, please go to www.redshedtickets.com or calll 08432 898 555.
