present, Jay performs mainly in Scotland, and
Northern England.
An engaging performer, he’s
equally comfortable playing solo, or fronting the 6
piece band assembled for the recording and promotion

Influences
Jay
has developed a very distinct and unique sound. When
he’s performing solo, one’s reminded of the
tenderness and vulnerability of Ryan Adams, due
mainly to his sparse guitar style, soaring, crooked
vocals and his obvious emotional commitment to the
lyric. When performing with the band, the guys have
often been likened to The E Street Band, The Band,
Dire Straights, and more recently The Felice
Brothers.
Support Slots
Jay, playing
solo, has supported Duke Special, Stephanie Dossen,
Kevin MacDiarmid and Joe Jackson. Most notable of
these was the Joe Jackson concert in front of a full
house at Edinburgh Queens Hall. At the interval
between Jay and the main act, all of Jay’s stock of
his album ’Take What You Need’ (60 albums) were sold
out within 30 minutes.
